singlet state
Antiparallel electron configuration
A singlet state is a quantum mechanical configuration in which all electron spins are paired, resulting in zero net spin.
The term appears most often in chemistry and physics when discussing molecular bonding or photochemistry: The molecule relaxed from the excited triplet state back to the singlet state.
In quantum computing, a singlet state describes two entangled particles with opposite spins.
