in phase
Moving in lockstep
Two things are in phase when their cycles or oscillations align—peaks coinciding with peaks, troughs with troughs.
The term comes from physics, describing waves or signals that rise and fall together: The two sound waves were perfectly in phase, reinforcing each other.
More broadly, in phase means synchronized or in harmony: After months of miscommunication, we're finally in phase on this project.
