multiphase

Having several phases

Multiphase describes something involving or occurring in multiple distinct phases or stages.

In engineering and physics, it typically refers to systems where different states of matter coexist: multiphase flow involves liquids, gases, and solids moving together through pipes.

The term also applies to electrical systems with multiple alternating currents: multiphase power.

More generally, any process with several sequential stages can be called multiphase: a multiphase clinical trial.
