chunk
Sizable solid portion
A chunk is a thick, solid piece of something, usually broken or cut off from a larger mass: a chunk of bread, a chunk of ice.
By extension, chunk refers to any substantial portion: A good chunk of my paycheck goes to rent.
In computing, a chunk is a segment of data processed as a unit.
To chunk is to divide into chunks, or in British slang, to throw: He chunked the ball across the yard.
