disk partition
Storage space division
A disk partition is a section of a computer's storage drive treated as a separate unit by the operating system.
A single physical drive can be divided into multiple partitions, each functioning like an independent disk—useful for organizing data, running multiple operating systems, or separating system files from user files: I created a separate partition for my Linux installation.
