onto
Moving toward contact
Onto is a merger of the prepositions on and to that combines the ideas of both of them.
It is often preceded by a verb of motion such as turn, move, or step.
In many cases onto is used when the ideas represented by its components are still somewhat separate, as when you log onto a website or hold onto a strap.
