old boy
Former pupil, informally
Old boy is a British term for a former student of a school, especially a private one: The old boys' network helped him land the job.
More broadly, old boy is a friendly form of address between men, somewhat dated and upper-class: I say, old boy, fancy a drink?
The feminine equivalent is old girl.
