Old girl is a friendly or affectionate term of address for a woman, often one who is older or has been a longtime companion: How are you doing, old girl?
In British English, an old girl is a female former student of a school, parallel to old boy.
The term also applies fondly to aging female animals: The old girl still loves her walks.
