geezer

Crotchety elderly fellow

A geezer is an old man, often one who's somewhat eccentric or crotchety: The old geezer yelled at kids to get off his lawn.

In British slang, geezer simply means a man or guy, without the age connotation: He's a proper geezer.

The American sense carries mild affection or gentle mockery rather than real insult.
