nutgrass
Tuber-spreading lawn pest
Nutgrass is a persistent weed with grass-like leaves and small, nut-shaped tubers on its roots.
Also called nutsedge, it spreads aggressively through lawns and gardens, and the tubers make it notoriously difficult to eradicate: No matter how much I pull, the nutgrass keeps coming back.
