nones
Afternoon canonical prayer
Nones has two distinct meanings.
In the Roman calendar and Catholic tradition, nones refers to the ninth hour of the day (about 3 p.m.) or the midafternoon prayers said at that time.
Separately, nones is a recent coinage for people who identify with no religion when surveyed about religious affiliation: The nones are the fastest-growing demographic in American religion.
