Tridentine Mass

Pre-Vatican II worship

The Tridentine Mass is the traditional Latin liturgy of the Roman Catholic Church, codified after the Council of Trent in the sixteenth century.

It remained the standard form of Catholic worship until the Second Vatican Council introduced vernacular liturgies in the 1960s.

Some traditionalist Catholics prefer it to the newer rite: The parish offers a Tridentine Mass on Sundays.
