midday

Sun directly overhead

Midday is noon—the middle of the day, when the sun reaches its highest point.

It refers both to the precise moment of twelve o'clock and to the hours around it: We met for a midday meal.

As an adjective, it describes things occurring at or near noon: the midday sun, midday heat.
