A nonbeliever is someone who doesn't accept a particular belief, especially religious faith.
The term usually refers to atheists or agnostics from the perspective of believers: The preacher warned against the influence of nonbelievers.
It can apply to any doctrine: nonbelievers in free-market economics.
The word often carries a faint tone of disapproval from those using it.
