Divine Office
Daily prayer cycle
The Divine Office is the cycle of daily prayers prescribed in Christian tradition, especially in Catholic and Orthodox churches.
Also called the Liturgy of the Hours, it structures the day around set times for psalms, hymns, and readings: The monks gathered for the Divine Office at dawn.
Priests and members of religious orders are typically obligated to pray it.
