nomogram
Graphical slide rule
A nomogram is a diagram with graduated scales arranged so that a straight line connecting known values on two scales intersects a third scale at the desired unknown value.
Engineers and medical professionals use nomograms to solve equations graphically without calculation: The doctor consulted a nomogram to determine the correct dosage based on the patient's weight and age.
Also called a nomograph.
