noise barrier
Roadside acoustic wall
A noise barrier is a wall or fence erected along highways, railways, or other noise sources to reduce sound reaching nearby areas.
Usually made of concrete, wood, or composite materials, these structures block or absorb traffic noise to protect residential neighborhoods: The new noise barrier cut highway noise by half.
Also called a sound barrier or sound wall.
