hearing tests
Sound perception assessments
Hearing tests are examinations that measure how well a person can detect sounds at various frequencies and volumes.
Audiologists administer them to diagnose hearing loss, fit hearing aids, or screen newborns and schoolchildren.
The most common type has you raise your hand or press a button when you hear tones through headphones: I failed my hearing test and need to see a specialist.
