neopronoun

Xe or hir, linguistically

A neopronoun is a pronoun created as an alternative to traditional options like he, she, or they.

Common examples include ze/zir, xe/xem, and ey/em.

Neopronouns emerged primarily within transgender and nonbinary communities as a way to express gender identities that existing pronouns don't capture: My coworker uses fae/faer pronouns.
