naturalise

Make officially domestic

Naturalise is the British spelling of naturalize.

To naturalise is to grant citizenship to a foreign-born person: She was naturalised as a British citizen in 2019.

Plants or animals naturalise when they establish themselves in a region where they're not native: The grey squirrel has naturalised throughout England.

To naturalise something is also to make it seem natural or normal rather than artificial or constructed.
