mosasaur

Extinct ocean lizard

A mosasaur was a large marine reptile that dominated the oceans during the late Cretaceous period, roughly 100 to 66 million years ago.

These predators had elongated bodies, powerful tails, and paddle-like limbs adapted for swimming.

They ranged from modest sizes to giants over 50 feet long.

Mosasaurs went extinct alongside the dinosaurs.
