live-bearing
Not laying eggs
Live-bearing describes animals that give birth to developed young rather than laying eggs.
Most mammals are live-bearing, as are some fish, reptiles, and invertebrates.
The technical term is viviparous.
Guppies are popular aquarium fish partly because they're live-bearing and reproduce readily in captivity.
