Extremely, in slang

Mondo is slang for extremely or very, used to intensify whatever follows: mondo bizarro, mondo cool.

It comes from Italian for "world" and entered English largely through the 1962 Italian documentary *Mondo Cane*, which showcased bizarre global customs.

The film spawned imitators and the prefix stuck as youth slang for anything extreme or outlandish.

As an adjective, mondo can mean huge or excessive: That's a mondo burger.
