gonzo
Reporter becomes story
Gonzo describes a style of journalism that abandons objectivity, with the reporter becoming part of the story through immersive, subjective, often drug-fueled participation.
The term extended beyond journalism to mean wildly unconventional, outlandish, or over-the-top: gonzo comedy, a gonzo marketing stunt.
The documentary took a gonzo approach, with the filmmaker inserting himself into every scene.
