Esperanto

Designed universal language

Esperanto is a constructed language created in 1887 to serve as an easy-to-learn international auxiliary language.

Its vocabulary draws from European languages, especially Romance and Germanic roots, with regularized grammar and phonetic spelling.

A small but dedicated community of speakers keeps it alive: She learned Esperanto as her first foreign language.

The adjective form describes things related to the language or its speakers.
