minuteman
Colonial rapid responder
A minuteman was an American colonial militiaman ready to fight at a minute's notice during the Revolutionary War era.
The term evokes readiness and patriotic defense.
Minuteman later became the name of U.S. intercontinental ballistic missiles, and various civilian groups have adopted the name, including anti-immigration activists patrolling the U.S.-Mexico border.
