mid-irons
Five through seven
Mid-irons are golf clubs in the middle range of the iron set, typically the 5, 6, and 7 irons.
They fall between the longer-hitting long irons and the more lofted short irons, offering a balance of distance and control for approach shots from the fairway: He pulled a mid-iron for the 160-yard shot.
