metalizing

Applying metal finish

Metalizing is coating a surface with metal, typically by spraying, vapor deposition, or electroplating.

The process gives nonmetallic materials—plastics, glass, ceramics—a metallic finish for appearance or function: metalizing the reflector, metalizing circuit boards.
