powder coating
Electrostatic paint process
Powder coating is a finishing process where dry powder is applied to a surface—typically metal—and then heated to form a hard, durable layer.
Unlike liquid paint, powder coating contains no solvents and produces a thicker, more resistant finish: The bike frame has a powder coating that resists chipping.
As a verb, to powder coat is to apply this finish.
