narcissist
Lover of mirrors
A narcissist is a person with excessive self-admiration and preoccupation with their own importance, often accompanied by a lack of empathy for others.
The term comes from the Greek myth of Narcissus, who fell in love with his own reflection.
In casual use, narcissist describes anyone who seems vain or self-centered: My ex was a total narcissist who couldn't stop talking about himself.
In clinical contexts, it refers specifically to someone with narcissistic personality disorder.
