matboard
Picture mounting surface
Matboard is the thick, sturdy cardboard used to frame artwork and photographs.
A mat surrounds the image, separating it from the glass and providing a visual border.
Matboard comes in various colors and textures, with acid-free varieties preferred for archival framing: She chose a cream matboard to complement the watercolor.
