door frames
Openings' structural surrounds
Door frames are the structures that surround and support doors, consisting of vertical side pieces (jambs) and a horizontal top piece (header).
The frame anchors the door to the wall and provides the surface against which the door closes.
The old door frames had been painted so many times the doors barely fit.
