mailing lists
Email distribution groups
Mailing lists are collections of email addresses used to send messages to multiple recipients at once.
They range from one-way announcements to interactive discussion groups where subscribers can post and reply.
A mailing list may be managed manually or through automated software: I subscribed to three mailing lists about gardening.
The term dates to postal mail, when organizations maintained lists of physical addresses for bulk mailings.
