lord mayor
Municipal ceremonial head
Lord mayor is the title of the chief magistrate of certain major cities, particularly in Britain and Commonwealth countries.
London, Dublin, Sydney, and Melbourne all have lord mayors.
The title carries more ceremonial weight than plain mayor, typically reserved for cities of special historical or commercial importance: The Lord Mayor of London presides over the City's financial district.
