ln

Euler's number exponent

Ln is the natural logarithm—the logarithm with base *e* (approximately 2.718).

In mathematical notation, ln(x) asks "what power must *e* be raised to in order to get x?" The function is fundamental in calculus, physics, and anywhere exponential growth or decay appears: ln(e) = 1, ln(1) = 0.

In Unix-like operating systems, ln is a command that creates links between files.
