linebreak
Where verses split
A linebreak is the point where text ends on one line and continues on the next.
In word processing, linebreaks happen automatically when text reaches the margin, but you can force one by pressing Enter or Return.
In coding and markup languages, linebreak characters control where text wraps: The poem's linebreaks were essential to its rhythm.
Also spelled as two words: line break.
