newline
Carriage return result
A newline is a character that marks the end of one line of text and the beginning of another.
In computing, newlines signal where line breaks occur in documents, code, and data.
Different systems represent newlines differently—Windows uses two characters, Unix-like systems use one—which can cause formatting headaches when files move between platforms.
The parser splits the input at each newline.
