section break
Page layout marker
A section break is a formatting marker in word processing that divides a document into distinct sections, each of which can have its own layout settings—different margins, headers, page numbering, or column arrangements.
Unlike a page break, which simply forces text to the next page, a section break creates an independent formatting zone: Insert a section break before the appendix to restart page numbering.
