Thrown rescue circle
A life buoy is a flotation device thrown to someone in the water to keep them afloat until they can be rescued.
Typically ring-shaped and brightly colored for visibility, life buoys are standard safety equipment on boats and at pools or beaches: She grabbed the life buoy from the deck and tossed it overboard.
Also called a life ring or life preserver.
