laker
Inland cargo vessel
A laker is a fish or boat associated with lakes.
In North America, it commonly refers to lake trout: We caught a few lakers this morning.
On the Great Lakes, a laker is a cargo ship designed for inland waters rather than ocean travel. (Capitalized Laker usually refers to a player or fan of the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team.)
