dismounting
Leaving your horse
Dismounting is the act of getting off something you've been riding—a horse, bicycle, or motorcycle.
The term appears in instructions and descriptions of the movement itself: Dismounting from a horse requires balance and timing.
In technical contexts, dismounting can mean removing something from its mount or support: dismounting the camera from the tripod.
