intranets
Private organizational networks
Intranets are private computer networks accessible only within an organization, using the same technology as the internet but restricted to employees or members.
Companies use intranets to share internal documents, policies, and tools: Check the intranet for the new HR forms.
The prefix *intra-* (within) distinguishes it from the public *inter*net (between networks).
