infarctions
Blood supply cutoffs
Infarctions are instances of tissue death caused by blocked blood supply.
The term is medical, most commonly encountered in *myocardial infarction*—a heart attack, where heart muscle dies from arterial obstruction.
The scan revealed multiple small infarctions in the brain.
Cerebral infarctions are strokes.
The singular is infarction; the verb is infarct.
