indite
To author formally
Indite is a formal or literary word meaning to compose or write, especially with care or artistry: She indited a long letter to her beloved.
The word sounds archaic and appears mostly in historical or deliberately elevated contexts.
Not to be confused with indict, which means to formally charge with a crime.
