hymn

Worship service melody

A hymn is a song of praise or worship, especially one sung in religious services: The congregation sang a hymn.

By extension, any expression of devoted praise can be called a hymn: The film is a hymn to small-town America.

To hymn something is to praise it effusively, though this use is literary and uncommon.
