holy card
Pious pocket memento
A holy card is a small devotional card, typically wallet-sized, bearing a religious image—often a saint, the Virgin Mary, or Jesus—with a prayer or scripture on the reverse.
Common in Catholic tradition, holy cards are distributed at funerals, given as gifts for religious milestones, or kept as personal devotional aids: She tucked a holy card of St. Anthony into her prayer book.
