hideouts
Places to disappear
Hideouts are places where people conceal themselves, especially to avoid detection or capture.
The word suggests secrecy and often illegality—criminals have hideouts, fugitives have hideouts.
Children playing also have hideouts: We built a hideout in the woods behind the house.
The singular hideout is more common.
