runaways
Escapees from home
Runaways are people or things that have fled or escaped control.
A runaway child has left home without permission; a runaway train has lost its brakes.
As an adjective, runaway describes something out of control or overwhelming: runaway inflation, a runaway bestseller, a runaway victory.
The word often implies momentum that can't be stopped.
