heliophobia

Fear of sunlight

Heliophobia is an abnormal fear of sunlight.

The term appears in medical and psychological contexts for people who experience anxiety or panic when exposed to bright light: Her heliophobia kept her indoors during summer months.

More loosely, it describes anyone who avoids the sun, whether from sensitivity, preference, or skin conditions.
