hedgehopping

Barely clearing obstacles

Hedgehopping is flying an aircraft extremely low to the ground, skimming just above hedges, trees, and other obstacles.

The term originated in military aviation, where pilots fly at treetop level to evade radar detection: The pilot went hedgehopping across the countryside to avoid enemy defenses.

By extension, it can describe any rapid, low-altitude travel across terrain.
